Its focus spans painting, sculpture, installation, video, and new media, with an emphasis on experimentation and critical engagement.
SAC Art Amsterdam supports both emerging and established artists, whose practices often engages but not always with themes of identity, memory, and migration. As the only dedicated platform for South Asian contemporary art in the Netherlands, and among the few in Europe, SAC Art Amsterdam plays a unique role in amplifying these voices. Its programme features young to mid-career artists from the subcontinent and its diaspora: some have exhibited at museums, galleries, and biennales worldwide, while others had their first international show at SAC Art Amsterdam.
The gallery also engages closely with the Dutch art ecosystem, hosting workshops and events with artists-in-residence from institutions such as the Rijksakademie, the Thami Mnyele Foundation, Buro Stedelijk, and the Jan van Eyck Academie.
